I Have An Aarfie Web Page or Web Site

If you have a custom built Aarfie Site and Big Cartel Shop, your Big Cartel favicon is already set up to synchronise with the favicon you control via your Aarfie Site’s Appearance > Favicon admin controls.

If you purchased an Aarfie Page or Site and an Aarfie Big Cartel Theme from the Aarfie Shop, navigate to your Big Cartel Theme Primary Custom Options and enter the URL of your Aarfie Page or Site home page in the custom option url_of_your_site_at_aarfie.

Your Big Cartel favicon will now synchronise with the favicon you control via your Aarfie Site’s / Page’s Appearance > Favicon admin controls.

I Do Not Have An Aarfie Web Page or Web Site

1. Create your favicon using a generator, such as Dynamic Drive’s Favicon Generator.

2. Download your favicon once you are happy with its appearance.

3. Upload your favicon to a public location such as your own web site, or use Dropbox as detailed in the support article How do I insert an image into my page? (note that TinyPic will not accept ico format uploads).

4. Once you have a public URL for your favicon, confirm it is available by entering the URL in your web browser. e.g. http://www.google.com/favicon.ico

5. Navigate to the Design > Pages section of your shop admin and click the page title Layout.

6. On the following page, scroll through the text box content until you find the custom script area. This area will be marked with tags as follows.

7. Copy and paste the following code in-between the custom script start and end tag.

8. Finally, replace [Your Favicon URL] in the pasted code with your public favicon URL, for example:

{{ END CUSTOM SCRIPT }}

Click the Save button once you have finished editing your Layout code.

Themes Without A Custom Script Area

If you can not find the the custom script tags in your Layout page, you may have an earlier version of Aarfie’s themes. Instead, locate the closing tag:

and paste your favicon code JUST BEFORE this closing tag:
